// who we are

About the club

“3D Workshop” is a modeling and 3D-printing club: from sketch to finished object, with the emphasis on everyone’s own idea.

#What the club is

“3D Workshop” is a modeling and 3D-printing club. We follow the whole path from sketch to finished object: creating our own 3D models, preparing them for display or printing and making the objects. The format is theory and practice, individual and team work; at the end of the year there is an exhibition and demo day of the finished projects.

The club is open to college students and to anyone who wants to learn: no experience is needed, and the age range in the project plan is 15 to 35.

#The new direction for 2026–2027

This year the club deliberately changes course:

  • Less CAD and printing for the sake of souvenirs. Students already study CAD in other subjects, and printing stays as the final realization of the best projects.
  • More polygonal modeling — this is what participants actually ask for: game characters and assets. Next in the program: topology, preparing models for game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity) and your own AR showcase.
  • The main goal is not the software but the skill: seeing simple shapes in any object, breaking the complex into simple parts and sharpening the basics so much that moving to another editor is no problem.
  • Self-expression comes first. Everyone works on their own idea; the leader adapts the difficulty.

The full year map is on the The year’s program page.

#The leader

Oleksii Boichenko, leader of the “3D Workshop” club, Classical Professional College of SumDU.

The schedule, announcements and contact with the leader are in the club’s Telegram group (the leader provides the invitation; the schedule for the new year is posted in the group rather than on this site, because it can change).

#Organizers

The club runs as part of the “Circle of Friends” project of the “Vienna” Charitable Foundation and the Classical Professional College of SumDU, supported by Welthaus Graz.

#About this site

  • Bilingual. The language switch at the top opens the same page in Ukrainian or English; your choice is remembered.
  • No sign-up, no tracking. Your progress (“checkpoint done”) and exercise scores are stored only in your browser and are never sent anywhere.
  • Static and open. The site is made of ordinary HTML pages and runs on GitHub Pages; the source code and instructions for changing it are in the GitHub repository.
  • A place for your projects. At the end of the year this is where participants’ portfolio pages and AR showcases will appear (block 9).
